In 1973, our story started with a restaurant, a terrace, and just 25 hotel rooms. Under the leadership of Mr. and Mrs. Broeks (third generation Van der Valk), the motel gradually expanded. New hotel rooms, modern meeting rooms, and a cosy hotel bar were added.

In 1995, they passed the torch to their son Jan Broeks and his partner Mireille Ortiz. With great passion, they continued to renew and expand the hotel, always responding to the evolving needs of their guests.

Now

Following a complete renovation in 2026, Van der Valk Hotel Volendam has evolved into a versatile hotel with 204 rooms, 11 meeting rooms, a restaurant, patisserie, hotel bar, and terrace. Thanks to our unique blend of business and leisure facilities, and our favourable location just 15 kilometres from the heart of Amsterdam, we are a popular destination for both business travellers and leisure guests.
