The Uniform Conditions for the Hotel and Catering Industry

HOUSE RULES

SAFETY

  • Remain calm in case of fire, activate the nearest fire alarm and report the incident immediately to reception.
  • When you hear the fire alarm, leave the building immediately and follow the green emergency exit signs to the assembly point.
  • Never use the elevators in case of fire.
  • For the safety of all our guests, CCTV surveillance is in operation in various areas of the hotel. In the event of emergencies or incidents, recordings may be shared with the authorities to assist with investigations.
  • You may park free of charge on our private premises. Parking is at your own risk; however, CCTV surveillance is in place for security purposes.
  • Emergency exits must not be used as regular entrances or exits and may only be used in case of an emergency.

PERSONAL BELONGINGS

  • Van der Valk Hotel Volendam is not responsible or liable for the loss of or damage to personal belongings.
  • It is strictly prohibited to remove any property belonging to the hotel. In the event of theft, the costs will be charged to the guest. Any intentional damage may result in repair or replacement costs being charged.

ROOM & BOOKING

  • The main booker must be at least 18 years of age and must be able to provide valid identification upon check-in.
  • Minors are only permitted to stay when accompanied by an adult.
  • It is not permitted to reserve or sublet a room without being present yourself, nor to accommodate more guests in a room than allowed.
  • We respect your privacy; however, in the event of a violation of the house rules, we reserve the right to enter your room.
  • Check-out is available until 11:00 a.m. Late check-out is subject to the following charges: €50 until 2:00 p.m. and €125 until 6:00 p.m.

ILLEGAL & PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES

  • The use, possession, or distribution of drugs or nitrous oxide is strictly prohibited. Violations may result in a fine and/or involvement of the police.
  • In cases of excessive alcohol consumption, we reserve the right to take appropriate measures, including refusal of access to the hotel.
  • Consumption of alcohol by persons under the age of 18 is strictly prohibited. We may request valid identification from guests up to the age of 25.
  • It is strictly prohibited to receive guests in the room for paid sexual activities or to create sexually explicit material.
  • Any detection or suspicion will result in immediate eviction and notification of the authorities.
  • Causing disturbance in or around the hotel, such as loud music, noise, or disruptive behavior, is not permitted.
  • Violations may result in denial of access to the hotel.
  • The use of candles or incense in guest rooms is strictly prohibited. The use of confetti or similar materials is also not permitted. Any violation will result in additional cleaning charges.
  • Smoking in the guest rooms is strictly prohibited, including e-cigarettes. Smoking is only permitted on the balcony or outdoor terrace. In case of violation, cleaning and fire brigade costs of at least €300 will be charged.
REMAINING
  • Pets are not permitted inside the hotel. They are, however, welcome on our terraces.
  • It is not permitted to take photos or videos of our staff without their consent.
  • In the event of a violation of the house rules, we may be required to take appropriate measures, such as terminating the reservation without refund or involving the police.
  • The management of Van der Valk Hotel Volendam reserves the right to make decisions in all situations not covered by these house rules.

We kindly ask you to respect our house rules. By doing so, we aim to ensure a pleasant and carefree stay for you and our other guests, while also creating a safe working environment for our staff.
